Tofu yaki

Vegan friendly
                     -diet for people eating with no animal products.

Hey there blog, how are you? today a new tofu dish for us, teriyaki version so I called it tofu yaki, so here is the recipe and hope you like this simple tofu recipe.

Teriyaki way of cooking originated in Japan. The word teriyaki is a combination of two Japanese words “teri” and “yaki”. Teri means luster, and yaki means grill or broil. To make a teriyaki dish, ingredients are basically marinated in teriyaki sauce then grilled or broiled. The sauce gives the ingredients the shiny look or luster (teri)..

Tofu is also known as bean curd or soya curd. Tofu has been part of the Asian cuisine for more than 2000 years. It became popular even in the western hemisphere because of the nutritional value found in tofu. Nowadays, tofu is being used as an alternative to meat and to create vegan meals.

Ingredients:

250g Tofu
1/2 cup Water
4 tbsp Oriental Sauce

















Sliced the tofu to a nuggets size or small size then in a pan put in water that is level to your tofu then add up 4tbsp of oriental sauce and simmer the tofu until water is nearly gone. Serve hot and garnish cucumber. Enjoy, happy eating!

- tofu is an excellent source of vegetarian protein
- it contain Selenium, needed for the proper function of the antioxidant system
- you can do a lot of recipe in tofu, from salad to dessert to entrée even in drink
- tofu has two types regular tofu (Chinese style) silken tofu (Japanese style)

- tofu is very low in Sodium
- one half-cup serving of raw tofu only contains 5 grams of Fat
- tofu is Cholesterol-free food
- tofu is a good source of Calcium
- cucumber is a high in dietary Fiber and very high in vitamin A, B6 and vitamin C

 Health facts:
- tofu is high in uric acid, bad for those who have gout
- tofu is also high in potassium, those who have kidney failure must eat this moderately
